Solenoid valves are designed for the measurement-dependent and automated refilling of oxygen and water. If, for example, the level sensor detects that the water level has fallen below a specified threshold due to evaporation or water consumption caused by backwashing of the drum filter, the control system activates the solenoid valve via the actuator output and it opens. Fresh water can thus be refilled automatically. The same can also be set up for oxygen thresholds. In the case of measurement-dependent aeration, the normally open configuration of the valve can be advantageous. If the power to the system fails and thus also the fresh water supply and flow, at least oxygen is supplied, which helps to bridge an emergency and potentially saves the fish stock.
