Welcome to SENECT! - What We Stand For
Our products enable to create precise control and monitoring concepts for all important processes in aquaculture systems.
From low-maintenance sensors and modular, smart IoT control devices to powerful drum filters, we offer high-quality solutions that combine efficiency, animal health, and sustainability.
Whether water quality monitoring, automatic feeding, or oxygen control – SENECT systems are specially developed for the requirements of aquaculture and enable efficient, safe operation of your facility.
Our products are not only used in commercial fish farming: They are also found in private koi ponds, public park ponds, aquariums, and research institutions, where they have numerous satisfied users.
Take a look at our references and see who is already part of the SENECT customer base!
Thanks to our modular design, our products can be flexibly adapted to your individual requirements and can be expanded or customized even after installation.
In our shop you will find everything you need to implement an intelligent measurement and control concept for your aquaculture system: sensors for the most important water parameters such as oxygen, temperature, water level, and more.
Our IoT controls are used, for example, for solenoid valves for water replenishment/aeration, automatic feeders for reliable and precise feeding, or drum filters for effective water treatment. We also offer additional accessories, spare parts, and chemicals for calibrating measurement devices.
All SENECT products are "Made in Germany" and combine robust technology with intelligent, networked control – for future-proof fish farming.
Benefit from our experience: In addition to high-quality products, we offer you personal advice and customized solutions for your aquaculture system or pond management. We will even plan your aquaculture project from the ground up if desired!
Controlled Water Quality through Smart Automation with Technology "Made in Germany"
Water is a precious resource in fish farming. Treating the water and reusing it not only reduces water consumption but also opens up new possibilities to improve water quality.
For example, in many systems it is possible to control temperature or influence pH levels. Treatment of inlet water (e.g., firewall for disinfection, degassing, iron removal) is also made economically viable by the massive reduction in water consumption.
SENECT's control technology is extremely powerful in water treatment for technical aquaculture and can be used in many ways. The full functionality and strength of SENECT control technology is particularly evident in the control of entire recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS).
With SENECT technology, processes are automated and thus more precise and resource-efficient.
The networking and online monitoring of IoT control units connect the recirculating systems with the user, who has access to sensor readings (e.g., as graphs), actions, status, and statistics at any time and from any location, and is warned of critical situations through alarm notifications. In addition to technical equipment, SENECT offers professional consultation for the realization of your water treatment and engineering services including conception, design/dimensioning, and planning of the treatment facility.
Conception, Planning, and Construction
The principle of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) is compelling and straightforward: The water in which the fish swim is treated and can thus be used multiple times.
This not only has the advantage that water consumption can be reduced by over 99% compared to traditional pond and flow-through systems, but it also opens up completely new possibilities: Important water quality parameters such as oxygen can be optimally adjusted, temperature can be controlled, and through the closed-loop system, the introduction of pathogens can be effectively prevented.
- Optimal environmental conditions ensure best growth and fish health
- The closed system prevents the introduction of diseases (biosecurity)
- Predators are excluded
In addition to these advantages, recirculating technology offers the possibility of producing fish and crustaceans almost independently of location and bringing them closer to consumers.
The disadvantages of RAS compared to traditional aquaculture methods such as trout farming in flow-through systems or salmon farming in sea cages are cited as higher degree of technology, higher energy consumption, and higher investment costs.
For the success of aquaculture enterprises, it is therefore essential to individually evaluate the respective site factors in order to ensure the profitability of the planned enterprise.
For example, the investment costs of a flow-through system can be higher than those of a comparable recirculating system.
SENECT continuously works on the technical development of recirculating technology and combines individual elements into complete systems. However, the success of our customers is based on a combination of a solid concept, the technology based on it, and good management.
Based on our know-how and practical experience – also through operating our own recirculating system – SENECT offers the creation of sound concepts and technical planning of aquaculture projects.
