ORP-Electrode for ORP-Sensor
The ORP-Electrode is used to determine the reduction and oxidation behavior in water (redox potential).
Organic substances in the water lead to a reduction in redox potential. Oxygen is withdrawn from the water and substances like ammonium and nitrite, that are toxic for fish, arise.
Oxygen and ozone are causing oxidation and are counteracting this process.
The redox electrode is measuring in mV to what extend electrones have been transposed in the chemical reactions. Thereby it allows conclusions about the water quality. Contamination of the sensor e.g. caused by algaeare to be avoided as they limit the accuracy of the measurement. The installalation of the electrode in calm, standing water, as this can lead to measurement errors.
