Frequency converters and relais

Drive and Switching Technology for Aquaculture Applications

Safely switch and precisely control high-power loads – with a minimal control signal from SENECT.

Frequency Inverter – What Is It For?

Soft start and stepless speed control for pumps, aerators, and filter motors.

Learn more

A frequency inverter receives the small output signal from SENECT and uses the mains connection to drive a 230 V or 400 V AC motor. It adjusts the frequency and voltage of the motor current so that pumps, aerators, or filter motors start up gently, run at continuously variable speeds, and operate on demand. In other words, motors don’t simply switch on or off – they run at exactly the speed required at any given moment.

  • SENECT only needs to provide a small control signal
  • The inverter draws actual power from the 230 V or 400 V mains
  • Motors run smoothly, with low wear and on-demand performance
  • Protects the controller from high currents

Relay / Power Switch – What Is It For?

Safely switch 230 V and 400 V loads without burdening the controller.

Learn more

A relay acts as a switch: the SENECT controller outputs a small signal that alone is not sufficient to power the connected device. The relay is activated by this signal and then closes the power circuit between the 230 V or 400 V mains and the load. The high current flows through the relay itself, not through the controller. Unlike a frequency inverter, a relay can only switch on or off – it does not regulate speed.

  • Safe separation of control and power circuits
  • Protects the controller from high currents
  • Reliable on/off switching for pumps, filters, and mains devices
  • Ideal for devices that only need to be switched, not regulated
